The InfectioTron launch conference will take place on the morning of 26 January 2022 in the presence of the representatives of Lyon 1 University, ENS Lyon, VetAgro Sup, INRAE, EPHE and the ANR. Due to the current evolution of the health crisis, the conference will be held entirely in digital format.

The InfectioTronproject proposes a unique and coordinated network of complementary equipment and platforms allowing the multi-scale and multimodal analysis of infectious events from their natural environment to cells and molecular mechanisms, all within a high level of security containment. It will support the development of new lines of research to carry out integrative projects within the "One Health" concept, linking the field to the laboratory. This will considerably strengthen the scientific community in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region around the theme of infectious diseases (human, animal, plant) and will provide, de facto, a unique scientific environment in France. EquipEx+ InfectioTron is funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) as part of the 2020 ESR-EquipEx+ call for projects. In total, this ambitious project will mobilize 10 research structures (LBBE, CIRI, IVPC, MMSB, LBTI, IGFL, LEM, RS2GP, MAP, BF2I), 5 academic institutions (Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, ENS Lyon, VetAgro Sup, INSA, EPHE) and 3 national research organizations (CNRS, INSERM, INRAE).
