Marie Verneret (PhD student PR2T) at the "Scientific Game Jam" 2023

Marie Verneret, doctoral student in bioinformatics in the PR2T team, has participated in the Online edition of the "Scientific Game Jam" 2023. She and her FERMION team developed "Where is hERVa? », a game on endogenous retroviruses in sheep, the subject of her thesis. “Where is herVa? », a fun way to understand the complex world of endogenous retroviruses in sheep!

The association "La Science entre en Jeu" organized the sixth edition of the Scientific Game Jam in several cities in France. This event allows young researchers to team up with game designer, graphic designers,  sound designers and game programmers, whether they are professionals or amateurs, with the challenge to create a scientific video game in only 48 hours! A jury composed of researchers, scientific mediators and video game professionals will evaluate the different games based on 3 criteria : the relevance to the research theme, the educational interest and the video game aspect. 

Marie Verneret, a phD student in bioinformatics from the PR2T team, has participated in the Online Edition as a scientist. She and her team FERMION have developed "Where is hERVa?", a game to discover endogenous retroviruses in sheep, her PhD project. You will be able to discover in a playful way the universe of endogenous retroviruses, their diversity and their potential impacts on flocks.
